In 1992 Oneida County established a County Hazardous Material Response Team (HazMat Team). The team consists of fire personnel from the Rhinelander Fire Department and local Volunteer Fire Departments.
The Oneida County HazMat Team is equipped and trained to respond to the types of chemicals transported and stored or used by industries within Oneida County.
Oneida County contract with Forest, Vilas, Langlade and Lincoln Counties to provide County HazMat Services, see map below. In addition, Oneida County and Wausau Fire Department work together as a State Type II HazMat Team.
