Oneida County Sheriff's Office

Rhinelander, Wisconsin

Investigative

The Investigative Division of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office conducts county-wide criminal and juvenile investigations.  The division is responsible for investigating all major felonies or specific crimes requiring extensive follow-up investigations.  The division consists of five full-time Detective Sergeants and is supervised by the Investigative Captain.  In addition, the Investigative Division includes special assignments involving the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Police-School Liaison Unit.

The Drug Enforcement Unit of our agency consists of a Detective Sergeant and two Investigator Deputies.  The Drug Enforcement Unit conducts county wide investigations of narcotic and other drug offense, and through inter-agency cooperation, provides investigative assistance to local, State, and Federal agencies.  In addition, this unit provides training and awareness education to both law enforcement officers and citizen groups.

Our Police-School Liaison program provides services to the Rhinelander School District.  Consisting of one Patrol Sergeant and two Patrol Deputies, this unit focuses on much more than the safety and security of our school.  These officers also provide a wide range of classroom presentations of special interest to various student groups.  In addition, these dedicated officers remain available to assist individual students with a focus on preventing problems before they start.

The Oneida County Public Safety Dive Team and the Oneida County Property Room are also part of the Investigative Division and supervised by the Investigative Captain.
